Gulika or gulik kaal - represents a period which rises at the end of the Saturns portion which is of approx. 1 hr 30 min duration everyday of week.
This period considers to be inauspicious for starting any important work.

Yes many people believe that saturn is inauspicious http://youtu.be/qQpQNQS1io4 Saturn's Dhaiyya is a 2.5 year long transit of Shani Dev which can harm people just like the Sadesati. But it is not always harmful, and in some cases it can also help the person who is running the Dhaiyya.
