To find tithi of particular day:
1.
Find(moon’s longitude –sun’s longitude),
Add 360deg if found negative,
It shows answer in deg. how moon is ahead of sun.
2.
Divide result by 12deg.
Add 1 to quotient only, ignoring the remainder.
We get number between 1-30.
3. this
number is nothing but tithi.
4.
We easily can find name of tithi , by looking in
tithi table.
Suppose its 3, that means tritiya which is sukla paksha.
We call this as “sukla tritiya”.
